Workshops and Talks

In response to overwhelming demand following the publication of my book, for those who cannot travel to me to train, I am very happy to travel to offer talks and one day workshops. Please email at info@therapiesforspecialneeds.co.uk for further details. I can come to schools or private venues wherever there are a number of you. This includes abroad, particularly in response to all the emails I have received from America and specifically in connection with autism.

I am also happy to travel to  offer two day fully certified and CMA approved practical diploma courses in  indian head massage for special needs based on all the techniques in my book. This is where groups or schools are involved . Again, please do email me at info@therapiesforspecialneeds.

Dates for courses held on Exmoor in my training and therapy chalet are listed on the website but early booking is essential as more school funded placements are now being booked well in advance . I look forward to meeting you all and sharing with you !

Upcoming articles for publications Spring 2016

It is with massive excitement and happiness that I have found myself being asked to write articles for some very prestigious titles.

The next quarterly issue, ( Spring 2016 ) of the highly respected International Therapist will feature a 1600 word article I was asked to write on indian head massage for young people with special needs. It was a complete joy as well as honour to write this.

Also coming up in the next issue of Optimum Nutrition Magazine is an interview style article I was asked to write about indian head massage , how I adapted it to work with children with special needs , how Ofsted have responded to my work, and how the ancient system of indian head massage and its beliefs hold out when scrutinised by science. I loved writing this one too !

Bath Life Magazine March 2016

My launch and book signing event at Waterstones in Bath will appear in the March 4th issue. The day was very generously covered by the extremely talented Alex Kennedy who was only meant to drop by for twenty minutes and ended up staying for two hours . I might have talked him to death but he wrote me a very lovely email afterwards saying my book and message are inspiring and that it was lovely to see such passion.

For me it is easy to be passionate about the most amazing and inspiring kids and young adults – they have so many gifts and it is just a question of believing in them and working with them on every level to achieve their potentials as their barriers melt away and they focus and produce . My work is so exciting and I discover new results regularly as it grows. It is a joy to me to see the word spreading and to see my therapy being used in schools and academies . It’s why I work so hard . This is a dream come true.

College and school funded placements on courses

From February 2016 I began taking bookings on my indian head massage for special needs practical diploma courses ( based on my book ) for school and academy funded placements. With 48 hours these teachers and members of staff were taking their training into their respective schools – a dream come true for me as I long to introduce therapies into schools everywhere. With the huge short term and long term benefits that my therapy brings to students , this impacts very positively not just on themselves as people but on the whole classroom and learning environment .

I have also successfully trained parents and carers of children with autism, ADHD and other special needs and within the first day of the course they want to take the therapy into their children’s schools. So many people arrive on the courses with an expectation – but always leave with a journey . I absolutely love my job !!IMG_8555IMG_7885

Bath Waterstones Book signing event

On Saturday 30th January 2016 Waterstones of Bath hosted my official launch and book signing event. The day was covered by  Alex Kennedy of Bath Life magazine who has kindly allowed me to use some of the photographs he took. The event will be appearing in Bath Life on March 4th! I pinched myself throughout the day and was thrilled to see so many friends and family , many of whom had travelled. I met some fantastic and truly inspiring new people too and will forever carry their stories with me. This was an amazing opportunity and one IIMG_8577IMG_8575IMG_8583IMG_8562_2IMG_8576 shall never forget.
